About CHNTS

History

The Community Health Nurses Training School, Winneba - Ghana, started since 1980 and is well sited in a historic town called Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana. Winneba, which is originally called Simpa by the locals came to be called Winneba because of the Windy nature of the town. The town is located along the Coast so the early foreigners who came to the town gave it the name Winndy Bay. As time went on, the locals started calling the place Winneba which almost sounds like "Windy Bay".

The CHNTS is ofering both Certificate and Diploma Courses in Community Health Nursing and also has Information Technology added to the curriculum. Standard of education at the CHNTS is very high and very practical oriented.

Mr. Kafui A. Prebbie, Country Director - oneVillage Foundation, Ghana has just initiated the CHNTS-CDI Project to build a WikiEducator site for the Community Health Nurses Training School.
